Cherokee County Woman Charged With Killing Father

Andrea Blanton was initially charged with concealing her father's death, but an autopsy found he died of strangulation.

A northern Cherokee County woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her father after Cherokee County sheriff's deputies discovered his decomposed body inside the home. Andrea Blanton, 45, remains at at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with no bond after she was arrested Thursday morning for the crime. Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office on Tuesday were dispatched to 515 Northridge Road near Ball Ground to perform a welfare check on James Reece, 77.  Authorities located Reece, who appeared to have been dead for several days, according to Cherokee Sheriff's Office Spokesman Lt. Alpharetta Shooting Victim's Sister Says Family Struggling

The family of Zachary Allen Rose, who attended Woodstock High School, is holding visitation in Canton today, and the funeral Saturday afternoon, but they need help to pay the costs.

The family of Zachary Allen Rose, a victim in a shooting in Alpharetta on Monday, Jan. 28, is struggling to cope with his death, and to find funds to pay for his funeral. "We just celebrated his birthday, he just turned 22," said his sister, Audrey Greene, as she worked on creating a video of her brother to be shown at the funeral home. "He had a lot of friends," she said. Zachary was visiting one of his friends, a former coworker, in Alpharetta when he was shot. His sister just found out that the suspect being sought by Alpharetta police was previously accused of a similar crime. He's left behind his family and those friends. "He got his mom and dad, one other brother, one other sister," Greene said. "And his big baby dog, his only 'child…
