My health and fitness to-do list.
For the first few weeks of my fitness journey, I thought the best way to hold onto that New Year's motivation was to begin with a temporary overload. I picked a variety of new and challenging things to try, all at the same time, knowing I would follow through on only some of them. Once I had it narrowed down to the ones I liked most, I reasoned, it would feel instantly easier than when I first started, because I wouldn't be juggling so many things anymore. Meanwhile, I'd actually be getting an even better workout by sticking to specific activities. Ladies and gentlemen, it worked like a charm! Local musician Joshua Miller played a live set for listeners at the Woodstock Coffeehouse Dec. 31.
Editor's Note: The Chords from the Coffeehouse series will be moving to Tuesdays. Though the impending New Year celebrations stole much of Woodstock Coffeehouse's usual crowd on the 31st, Georgia resident Joshua Miller gladly played his set for the modest audience as midnight drew closer. Miller, 26, said he enjoys performing live shows for the chance to let others experience his music. "I love to play live. I've had 13 years of playing for the wall, and it's served its purpose, but the thrill of sharing my music with others is an addiction I have no plans of giving up any time soon."
