Woodstock Outlet Mall Job Fair Is Today

Today's job fair for the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta is expected to fill over 500 part-time and full-time jobs.

Dust off your resumes and cover letters, everyone! Today is the day the Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta hopes to fill over 500 jobs for its outlet mall opening in July. The Georgia Department of Labor will team up with the outlet mall to host the job fair, which is set from to 10 am. to 2 p.m. today at the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Conference Center in Canton. Over 500 part-time and full-time openings are slated to be available, ranging from management, sales associates, housekeeping, stock and maintenance work. Woodstock Outlet Mall Job Fair To Fill Over 500 Positions

The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta's job fair next week will have a plethora of job openings available.

Next week's job fair for the Outlet Shoppes of Atlanta will have no shortage of positions that need to be filled. Over 500 part-time and full-time openings are slated to be available, ranging from management, sales associates, housekeeping, stock and maintenance work, according to a press release from the Georgia Department of Labor GDOL will team up with the outlet mall for the job fair, which will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday May 23 at the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Conference Center in Canton. Job Fair, More Stores Announced for Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta

Coach, Fossil and American Eagle are among the latest stores to announce their move to the outlet mall.

Thirty eight additional stores have signed on to open up shop when the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta in Woodstock opens to the public.  The outlet mall, slated to open on July 18, now has 89 stores signed onto the project and more are slated to come. Wing & Rock Fest Will Return To Woodstock

The 8th annual 97.1 The River Wing & Rock Fest is set for May 31-June 2 in downtown Woodstock.

The 8th annual 97.1 The River Wing & Rock Fest is set to return to Woodstock later this year. The festival, organized by USA Entertainment, Inc., will host the festival from 6 p.m. Friday May 31, noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday June 1 and and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday June 2. The council approved a temporary alcohol license for the company to hold the festival at the Park at City Center.  The event, which usually has free admission, is slated to have two designated areas where alcohol will be served — on the lower level of the park. The festival will feature food, music, arts & crafts and a kids zone. A wing-eating contest is also typically held during the event.  Nearly 20,000 people are expected to flock to Woodstock for the event.  The council …

UPDATE: Woodstock Outlet Mall To Hold Job Fair Next Week

The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta hopes to fill 1,000 positions at a job fair at Etowah High School from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday Feb. 21.

Editor's note: the story has been updated to include an amended time in which the job fair will begin. The much anticipated outlet mall opening in Woodstock will start looking for new employees next week. The Georgia Department of Labor will help the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta fill a number of employment slots at a job fair at Etowah High School.  A job fair will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday Feb. 21. The school's address 6565 Putnam Ford Drive, Woodstock, GA. Ridgewalk Parkway Widening To Start This Week

The road's widening will be done ahead of the opening of the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta.

With one road project under its belt, the city of Woodstock will soon start another one. Motorists should expect the widening of Ridgewalk Parkway to start some time this week. The road will be widened between the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta's main entrance and Ridge Trail.  The Woodstock City Council last month unanimously approved an agreement Community & Southern Bank to use a loan to pay for the road improvements.  The loan amount was approved at $2.7 million, with a 1.85 percent interest rate fixed for three years.  The agreement called for the loan to be secured with up to $2.7 million in Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or SPLOST, IV dollars.  The city, along with Horizon Properties, the outlet mall's developer, and Cherokee …

Relocated Woodstock Parkway Open For Traffic

Woodstock Parkway was relocated as part of plans to build the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta in the city.

The newly relocated Woodstock Parkway is now open for use. The road opened at 10 a.m. on Friday, the city of Woodstock announced. Woodstock Parkway was shifted to the eastern part of the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta's property, and also realigned with the entrance to the Meridian at Ridgewalk neighborhood.  The new intersection with Meridian Drive is in full operation and also has a working traffic signal.  The old Woodstock Parkway will be used as the entrance to the outlet mall, which is under construction and slated to open in July. The traffic signal at the new mall entrance and Ridgewalk Parkway and Olde Rope Mill Road will temporarily be in flash mode until the entrance to the outlet mall is completed.   The secondary entrance of the …

The Woodstock City Council approved a loan agreement with Community & Southern Bank to make the improvements.

The Woodstock City Council on Monday unanimously approved an agreement Community & Southern Bank to use a loan to pay for the widening of Ridgewalk Parkway. The loan amount is set at $2.7 million, with a 1.85 percent interest rate fixed for three years.  The road will be widened between the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta's main entrance and Ridge Trail. The agreement calls for the loan to be secured with up to $2.7 million in Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or SPLOST, IV dollars.  The city, along with Horizon Properties, the outlet mall's developer, and Cherokee County all chipped in to pay for the roadway's improvements. Woodstock Outlet Mall Could Open Sooner

The expected completion date for the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta has been moved up to July 18, 2013.

The opening date of the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta appears to be closer than anticipated. Horizon Group Properties announced on Friday the grand opening date for the outlet mall in Woodstock will be July 18, 2013, a few weeks ahead of the August 2013 scheduled opening. The 370,000 square-foot phase will be stocked with some of the widely known brands and designer outlets such as Brooks Brothers, Cole Haan, Nike, Under Armour, Michael Kors and Talbots.   Thirty new stores that have recently announced their intentions of joining the rundown of stores include: Aéropostale, Asics, Berry & Berry Yogurt, Bose, Charley's Steakery, Charlotte Russe, Claire's, Columbia Sportswear, Dress Barn, Fox, Gold Toe, Gymboree, Haggar, Jos. Ridgewalk Parkway Interchange Ribbon Cutting Today

The ceremony was set to be held on Tuesday, but was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Today's weather should be nearly perfect for the city of Woodstock to hold its ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the Ridgewalk Parkway interchange on Interstate 575. The ceremony, which was originally slated to be held on Tuesday, will start at 10 a.m. today. Parking will be available along Rope Mill Road near Olde Rope Mill Park and at the VCC Construction's office area along Woodstock Parkway and Ridgewalk Parkway. The design-build project officially wrapped up on Nov. 16, about six weeks ahead of its Dec. 31 completion date. The project also was completed on budget.
