Deadline Nears For Woodstock Public Safety Academy

Residents must apply by Thursday in order to participate in the academy, which will be hosted by the Woodstock Police and Fire Departments.

Time is winding down for residents to apply for the Spring 2013 Woodstock Citizens' Public Safety Academy.  Thursday is the deadline to apply to participate in the free sessions, which will be hosted as a partnership between the Woodstock Police and Fire Departments.  The sessions will be held every Thursday between March 28 and June 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Magnolia Hall (formerly the Woodstock Community Center).   The academy offers a series of classes that will educate residents on several key aspects of both agencies.  It's also intended to strengthen the agencies' relationship with the citizens while showcasing their responsibilities and risks associated with their professions.  Classes will be instructed by officials from both …

Residents Wanted for Woodstock Public Safety Academy

The academy will offer classes to teach residents on the operations and responsibilities of both the Woodstock Fire and Police Departments.

Woodstock residents will soon be able to learn about both the inner workings of both the Woodstock Fire and Woodstock Police departments. Both agencies are now accepting applications for its Spring 2013 Public Safety Academy. The academy will be held every Thursday between March 28 and June 18. Sessions will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Magnolia Hall (formerly the Woodstock Community Center).   The academy, which is free, will offer a series of classes "designed to enhance the citizen’s understanding of various aspects of both departments," according to a press release.  It's also intended to strengthen the agencies' relationship with the citizens while showcasing their responsibilities and risks associated with their professions.  …
