Two people have been arrested in connection with the theft of a trailer at The HOPE Center, but police are still looking for another person. Cobb County Police have arrested Carl James Bourque, 44, of Marietta and Bobbie Jean Colston, 31, of Woodstock after a citizen spotted the trailer taken from the nonprofit organization some time between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. According to information on the Cobb County Adult Detention Center's booking data website, Colston has been charged with theft by receiving stolen property, misdemeanor willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer and felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance. The Woodstock Police Department needs the public help in solving a theft that hit a nonprofit organization that caters to pregnant women. The HOPE Center, located just off Highway 92, was the target of thieves on Wednesday morning, according to CBS Atlanta. The suspects allegedly cut the lock on the facility and drove off with the trailer. The trailer was stocked with five baby cribs, Store Manager Monti Price told the news outlet. Woodstock Police Spokesperson Brittany Duncan said the theft was reported to the agency at 9:15 Wednesday morning. The trailer is described as a 2002 enclosed model with the clinic's logo on it. Towne Lake Optimist Club president said teen won't be charged
The teenager who was arrested for stealing flags last week throughout Towne Lake apologized to the Towne Lake Optimist Club for his actions. Club President Matt Halloran said the 16-year-old, accompanied by his mother, expressed his feelings to the club during its lunch meeting on Wednesday. Halloran said the teen told the audience he "was bored that day and that he didn't realize the impact of his actions." He added the teen got "very emotional" as he talked to the members of the club. "It took a lot of courage to get up and say something like that," Halloran added. A 16-year-old was arrested this weekend in connection with the disappearance of nine American flags in Towne Lake. According to CBS Atlanta, Cherokee sheriff's deputies received an anonymous tip Saturday evening that a truck parked at Hobgood Park had one of the custom-made flags displayed in the bed of the vehicle. The teen was arrested, charged with theft by receiving and released to a parent. The flags, estimated to be worth $40 each, had been placed at several locations by the Towne Lake Optimist Club. Nine American flags in the Towne Lake area of Woodstock were stolen on Labor Day.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office announced that nine custom-made flags were taken. On Friday Cherokee County Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said the flags had been placed at several locations by the Towne Lake Optimist Club. Two flags were taken from Running Deer Parkway, two from Towne Lake Hills South Drive, two from in front of the Wendy's on Towne Lake Parkway, one from Victoria Road, one from Township Drive and one from in front of the Chick-fil-A on Towne Lake Parkway. The Woodstock Police Department warns residents about a growing trend of thefts at local gyms. According to a news release from the police department, Woodstock has seen a recent rise in the number of thefts occurring at the gyms in the city where items are stolen from within the lockers and vehicles. In March of last year, a car was stolen from the LA Fitness by a man and a woman who took a gym bag in an open locker with the car keys. They also used the credit cards left in the vehicle at various stores.
