Cherokee Unemployment Rate at 6.4 Percent
The county's unemployment rate remains lowest in 10-county Atlanta region.
Cherokee County's preliminary unemployment rate for November fell slightly to 6.4 percent, the lowest in the 10-county metro Atlanta region. The rate is down from the October rate of 6.5 percent and 7.3 percent in November 2011, according to figures released by the Georgia Department of Labor. Cherokee's labor force rose slightly to 114,906 last month from 114,634 in October. November's labor force is also higher than November 2011 figure of 112,948. Cherokee's unemployment rate is clocked in lower than metro Atlanta's November unemployment rate of 8.0 percent.
