Man Caught with 16 Phony Credit Cards, Police Say

During a search, Woodstock investigators say they found computer equipment used in the production of credit cards.

Woodstock police arrested a Sandy Springs man with 16 fraudulent credit cards on him at the Woodstock BJ’s Wholesale Monday. Ben Achampong, 30, was attempting to make a purchase at BJ’s with one credit card at approximately 2:25 p.m. when police officials found the remaining cards in his possession, said Brittany Duncan, a spokeswoman for the Woodstock Police Department. Achampong not only had credit cards of victims from Michigan, Colorado, Texas and Georgia, but also had computer equipment used to produce credit cards, Duncan said. Woodstock police investigators, Sandy Springs investigators and a federal agent found the equipment, additional fraudulent credit cards and sales receipts during a search of Achampong’s home.
