Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $600M

Could you be the multi-million dollar winner?

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot has reached $600 million, the highest jackpot in the game’s history. The announcement was made Friday afternoon, just a few days after strong sales prompted lottery officials to bump Saturday’s Powerball jackpot from $475 million to $550 million. Not only is the current $600 million jackpot the largest in Powerball history, it is the second largest jackpot in U.S. history. The Powerball winner can opt to receive 30 graduated payments over 29 years or collect a $376 million cash payout. Powerball tickets are $2.

Cherokee Business Owner Wins Fantasy 5 Drawing

David Lawson is one of two winners from the April 13 Fantasy 5 drawing.

A Cherokee County business owner is $261,766 richer.  David Lawson of Daniel and Lawson Pest Control in Ball Ground, was one of two winners who matched all five numbers in the April 13 Fantasy 5 drawing.  Winning numbers from the April 13 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 20-27-30-33-34. Faz Corner in Marble Hill sold the winning Quik Pik ticket. The other winning ticket was sold in McCaysville.  "I found out the next day," Lawson said. "I’m tickled to death, and it couldn’t have come at a better time." Since its inception, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $13.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. Powerball Jackpot Reaches an Estimated $500 Million

Georgia Lottery says it's the largest jackpot in the game's history.

Who wants to be a $500 millionaire? The jackpot for Wednesday’s Powerball drawing is estimated at $500 million, a record-breaking figure for the multi-state lottery game, according to the Georgia Lottery. “The Powerball jackpot has soared to a record amount, which is exciting for players and important for the educational programs we fund,” said Georgia Lottery Corporation President and CEO Debbie D. Alford in a press release. “Georgia Lottery players have a chance to win big, and the students of Georgia certainly win big with every ticket purchased.” Wednesday’s jackpot has grown to a record pot because no one has matched the winning numbers in 15 straight drawings. Woodstock resident wins $250,000

  A Woodstock resident recently purchased a Georgia Lottery ticket worth $250,000.  Glenis Morales purchased a ticket for the Atlanta Falcons Cash Blowout instant game at Kroger in Towne Lake. Morales claimed her prize on Nov. 7 at the Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta. She and her husband Eduardo have three children and are excited about the win.  “We’re looking to buy a new house,” said Morales. Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. Woodstock Store Sells Winning Lottery Ticket

A Marietta resident purchased the ticket in September.

A Woodstock convenience store recently sold a winning lottery ticket worth $1 million.  AM/PM Woodstock at 12152 Highway 92 in Woodstock, sold the winning Powerball ticket to Chadwick Steelman of Marietta, according to a press release from the Georgia Lottery Corporation. Steelman matched the first five winning numbers from the Sept. 26 Powerball drawing and claimed his prize on Oct. 3 at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.  The winning numbers from the Sept. 26 drawing were: 13-26-39-41-42 and the Powerball was 10. Saturday’s Powerball jackpot drawing is at an estimated $80 million to a single annuity winner, according to the Georgia Lottery.  Proceeds from Powerball and other Georgia lottery games go towards public education funding…
