Woodstock Man Charged With 16 Counts of Identity Theft

Woodstock Police arrested Rashan Lawhorne after a year-long investigation.

A Woodstock man has been arrested after a year long investigation into fraudulent activities involving an airline company.  Rashan Lawhorne was arrested on Wednesday by officers with the Woodstock Police Department and remains behind bars at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on a $110,000 bond. Lawhorne is charged with 16 counts of identity theft and one count of theft of services. Captain Kevin Culpepper with the more charges against Lawhorne are pending. The Woodstock Police Department's Criminal Investigation Unit launched an investigation after a complaint made by Air Tran Airways in 2011. The company informed police of possible fraudulent activities in the purchase of tickets from the airline, according to a press release …

GBI IDs Man Killed in I-75 Chase

Jerome George “Jerry” Cundy of Woodstock led Cherokee and Cobb authorities on a chase after he allegedly robbed a Woodstock convenience store Sunday morning.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has identified the man killed Sunday in an officer-involved shooting on I-75 as 53-year-old Jerome George “Jerry” Cundy of Woodstock. Cundy allegedly robbed a Woodstock convenience store Sunday morning, then led Cobb and Cherokee law enforcement on a chase from a Marathon station on Bells Ferry Road in Woodstock and down I-75, to just south of the North Marietta Parkway.  Police stopped the vehicle there, and Cundy aimed his gun at officers, who shot and killed him, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said Sunday. GBI spokesman John Bankhead offered no other details in the case, which remains under investigation. Southbound I-75 traffic was halted at the North Marietta Parkway around 11 a.m. Sunday. …

They knew that from seeing the video camera at Walgreens where the side of the gun was missing. There was also 2 hours between the two stores. Robbery Suspect Killed in I-75 Chase

All southbound lanes were closed for hours near the North Marietta Parkway exit Sunday after a law enforcement pursuit that began in Woodstock.

A suspect who allegedly robbed a Woodstock convenience store Sunday morning was shot and killed by police on Interstate 75 near the North Marietta Parkway, leaving southbound traffic jammed for most of Sunday afternoon. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that the unnamed suspect led Cobb and Cherokee law enforcement on a chase from a Marathon station on Bells Ferry Road in Woodstock and down I-75, to just south of the North Marietta Parkway.  Police stopped the vehicle there, and the suspect aimed his gun at officers, who shot and killed him, according to the AJC report, which was based on a statement issued by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. 'I Did a Stupid Thing'

An accused shoplifter's shopping list included beer, pornographic magazines and heartburn medication.

A Woodstock man arrested about midnight told police he had done "a stupid thing" after he crashed his car in Cartersville, according to the Bartow County Sheriff's Office report. Police say the suspected shoplifter who had just stopped at a Highway 41 convenience store had a lengthy shopping list. Jeffery Deano Neal, 45, is accused of snatching $185 worth of merchandise from the counter. The clerk told police Neal placed the items— a 30-pack of Bud Light, 12-pack of Corona, 11 porn publications, Pepcid AC, Trojan condoms and several lottery tickets—on the counter as if he were going to pay, then grabbed them and ran out. She locked the door and called police, and said Neal walked up to the window and knocked on the glass. Neal then fled, …
