Reply1021 Lawton Street SW, is where the body was found. Yes this is very upsetting, and I agree these abandoned properties are just magnets for bad stuff to happen.

On the article Last Day for Suggestions on Renaming Cascade Elementary

ReplyI tend to lean towards the same decision. Cascade Elementary is a great name for a neighborhood school. I like the fact that it is named after a neighborhood/place instead of a person. Many times it is harder to identify with a historical person, as it is to identify with a place...and Cascade is such a great place as well as being full of history too. Maybe the name should stay the same for another 50 years, until schools start being named after President Obama.

Ginny, when exactly did Cascade Patch become "so intolerant", as you say? We like the Patch and love the fact that it reports a good deal of "good news" happening in SW Atlanta...unlike all the other news outlets. I guess you prefer the old days when reporters only came to SW to report a shooting or some crime. On the subject...I think the councilperson should stay. The voters should decide whether she stays or goes.
