Downtown Woodstock Celebrates 1969 With Tie-Dyes, Music

Friday Night Live returns to downtown Woodstock, with its Summer of Love theme.

Woodstock's famed Friday Night Live will return to its downtown area tomorrow.

The event, which is held the first Friday of each month, allows residents to visit restaurant and stores in the central business district and take part in any specials they are having in relation to the event's theme.

Tomorrow's theme, Summer of Love, will allow residents to celebrate the history of the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival. 

The event will include a hippie costume contest, in which the winner will receive a $100 downtown gift certificate. Contestants can enter by visiting the Woodstock Visitor's Center at Dean's Store during the event and have their picture taken. 

Other activities include:

  • Live music will be featured in front of Seven Arrows & Cupcakelicious.  
  • Ipp's Pastaria will feature musician Tony Mele, who will perform on the restaurant's patio. 
  • Copper Coin Coffee will feature live music by Is That So? from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. 
  • Seven Arrows will have refreshments and 10% off purchase for anyone wearing hippie attire.
  • Cupcakelicious will offer dollar off ice cream or a cupcake for those who dress in their hippie garb Friday night.
  • Foxtale Book Shoppe is hosting its Emerging Author book signing event from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. They will have 11 authors, both adult and children's books, sharing their books, what inspired them and more. They will be serving some Summer of Love punch and playing some Summer of Love tunes.
  • Salon & Spa Venessa will have an open house and giving tours of our newly ReFreshed salon & spa.
  • Canyons Burgers Company will featuring ice cold $2 domestic beers
  • LKT Sports Art will offer 10% off in stock items
  • Teen Arts Night: Between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Chambers at City Center, bring your guitar, your karaoke cd, your poetry, your artwork, your short stories to share with other creative, arts minded teens. $5 cash at the door provides a slice of pizza and a soda at intermission. For children and teens in grades 7-12.
  • iThink Improv Troupe: Come to Chambers at City Center auditorium at 9 p.m. for some family friendly laughs as the Troupe takes audience suggestions and turns them into wacky comedy. All seats $5.
