The foundation, organized at the request of Cherokee County School Board vice chair Janet Read, advocates for Cherokee County School District teachers and staff by promoting teaching and learning and celebrating student achievement.

Some of the areas the foundation wants to help in includes providing grants for schools, teachers and other staff for “bright ideas” to improve education; grants for students for academic and after-school/extra-curricular programs; and support for specific initiatives such as the Cherokee Academies and Bring Your Learning Device.

“Registering to be a sponsor or just to play in this tournament is an easy way to make a big difference in our schools,” said Foundation Fundraising Chairman Kevin Williams, whose company, Chick-Fil-A of Canton, also is a tournament sponsor.

Registration is open online via PayPal on the foundation’s website or you can download the form and mail it to the foundation with payment by check following the instructions on the form.

Volunteers also are needed in a variety of opportunities both before and during the tournament.
