Spend The Night Out With Woodstock Police

The Woodstock Police Department will host its annual National Night Out event Tuesday Aug. 6.

The National Night Out initiative will once again make its way to Woodstock. The Woodstock Police Department will hold its annual National Night Out event Tuesday Aug. 6.

The event, held in partnership with other local agencies, will be held 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Park at City Center in downtown Woodstock.   

In its 30th anniversary, National Night Out is done to increase crime and drug prevention awareness, generate public support of local efforts to fight crime, strengthen the bond between neighborhood and residents with its local public safety departments and "to send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are uniting together against crime."

Woodstock's event will feature many family-friendly activities such as bounce houses, a rock climbing wall, face painting, SWAT demos, K-9 demos, two helicopters, a live DJ and a Safe Kids safety house.

Along with Woodstock police, other agencies participating include the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, Holly Springs Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, Drug Enforcement Administration, Woodstock Fire Department, Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services, Safe Kids Cherokee, United States Army, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Cherokee County Domestic Violence Task Force, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Woodstock Public Safety Foundation, Cherokee County E-911, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and Cherokee County Animal Control.
