Woodstock Wants To Find Its Own Water Source

The city is set to approve a contract with a company to continue its groundwater exploration process.

The city of Woodstock is poised to agree to move into the third phase of its quest to find its own source of water.

The Woodstock City Council tonight will consider approving a contract with Emery & Garrett to move into the third phase of its groundwater exploration process.

The contract amount is set at $280,000, and the company will perform exploratory test well drilling for the city.

Woodstock started this process in 2011 in an effort to see if it could have a local source of water. The city buys its water from the Cherokee County Water and Sewerage and Cobb County-Marietta Water authorities.

The council will consider the contract during its meeting tonight, which starts at 7 p.m. at the Chambers at City Center. The chambers are located at 8534 Main Street.
