Bells Ferry Road Closes Till Thursday

Here is the information you need to know Wednesday, Sept. 21.

1. There is a 60 percent chance of storms in the morning and going in to the early afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The high for today is 80 degrees with a low of 63.

2. Bells Ferry Road will be closed to through traffic for road repairs at the Little River Bridge for today and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The  said traffic will not be able to cross the bridge and will need to use Towne Lake Parkway to I-575 to Sixes Road as a detour.

Also, remember Land Road at the Clayton Fire Station is still closed to through traffic for reconstruction till 5 p.m. Friday. There is a posted detour.

3. Despite concern from a resident’s group, the approved moving forward with a $15 million aquatic center in Holly Springs Tuesday night. . It could be two years before the center is able to support itself, according to projections.

5. Karen and John Bliss, parents of second-grader Tommy Bliss in Kim Curran’s class at , visited the school to talk with students about their jobs as aeronautical engineers with NASA. They read and discussed the story, Exploring Space with an Astronaut. “The children were very excited to learn that Mrs. Bliss worked with the astronaut featured in this story,” Principal Christian Kirby said.
