City Council Meets, It's Nasty Hot, and More.

Here's everything you need to know before leaving the house today, June 20.

1) Today will be sunny and hot with a high of 94, according to the National Weather Service. Throw in the heat index and you’re talking 97 degrees. Yikes. Tonight's low will be in the 70s.

The rest of the week looks like thunderstorms here and there, and more hot.

It’s just June. No two ways about it…sigh.

A dance and creative movement class is being led by Steps Dance Center as part of the summer recreation program of the Sequoyah Regional Library System. The free class is open to all ages.

5) And lastly, take a nice cold flash back to the 50s. It’s National Ice Cream Soda Day.

It's hot. It's muggy. And, an ice cream soda is a flavorful way to cool off. The flavor of ice cream soda is your choice. Any will do.

BTW: There are numerous "Ice Cream ____" days this month. The ice cream manufacturers have done a splendid job of promoting themselves.
