Mardi Gras on Main

Celebrate Mardi Gras in Downtown Woodstock . Event will feature a Mardi Gras parade and the crowning of a King & Queen of the event.

The Mardi Gras on Main parade will start at 8 p.m. The parade will go the entire length of Chambers Street (the street that runs in front of the 5 story brick building) turn left onto Wheeler Street, then left onto East Main Street and then end on Fowler Street. 

The King & Queen of Mardi Gras on Main will be chosen from a field of candidates. The candidates will be featured in the parade,andafter the parade ends the candidates will appear on the balcony of . There they will be introduced to the public and the public will vote for the winner of King & Queen

Bands will be performing on the sidewalks around Downtown Woodstock. In addition we will have a few strolling musicians wandering around Downtown Woodstock performing during the event.

Other activities going on around Downtown during the event are:

  • PURE Woodstock will have a Mardi Gras theme night going with staff in masks/beads. As well, we will be keeping the bar open late (1 a.m. vs. 11 p.m.) for an after hours disco party with a DJ. No cover, just stay late, have a beverage and have fun.
  • The will be hosting live music featuring the Owl Creek Band at 7 p.m.
  • Roomscapes Gallery and Heartworks Studio will have an exciting FNL this March with a showing of new work by Chase King, a wonderful young and upcoming artist you don't want to miss. Also come by for our Hurricanes and live music by Blaine Steven Lusk from New Orleans . Blaine will also be previewing his neon signs for April's FNL.
  • will be having Steak Night!
  • will have some great refreshments on hand for the public including their famous shrimp jambalaya. They will also be passing out beads to the public. The kids need to stop in and compete in their bead toss game with free prizes for all who participate! Also will have a door prize giveaway, be sure to stop by and register. 
  • Blue Frog Imports will be having a grand opening in conjunction with Mardi Gras and will be catering in some food from Cans Taqueria and decorating the store with masks, boa's and beads. They Also will have a painting table for the kids in the back to help promote their Corks & Create Painting class.
  • will be giving away beads and have cajun type refreshments.
  • will be hosting author Patricia Sprinkle at 6:30 p.m. Atlanta author, Patricia Sprinkle, (Hold Up the Sky) launches her new novel at FoxTale Book Shoppe. Join us for refreshments and discussion about Sprinkle’s “contemporary novel of sisterhood, the South, and matters of the heart.”
  • Ann Litrel Art will be hosting a drawing and sculpture show on Friday Night during Mardi Gras on Main . The show will feature drawings by Kristina Havens and sculptures by Matthew Lewis. 
  • The at Dean's Store will be hosting game night, where you can play your favorite board or card games in the historic setting of Dean's Store. 
  • Other merchants participating in the event are Samson and Delilah Antiques, LKT Sports Art, Val's Happy Shack, Salon Bastille, Canyons Burgers, The Right Wing Tavern, Maxwell's Cigar Bar, HoneyButter, Alex N Sis, The Magnolia Thomas Restaurant, Vingenzos and Ember Hot Yoga.

Spend the first Friday of every month in Olde Towne Woodstock and enjoy the many restaurants and stores that the area has to offer as the Downtown Merchants stay open late, 6 p.m.-9 p.m. For each Friday Night Live theme participating Downtown Merchants will have activities going on at their stores and throughout the Downtown area related to the theme of the month.
