Overview: If you’re looking for a great place to enjoy the show of a hibachi-style Japanese dinner, Sapporo Japanese Steak Seafood is a hidden jewel. Most people go on special occasions for a great night of entertainment and good food.

Sapporo is also a great place for a casual dinner, and if you’re a sushi lover, it has a wide array of fresh sushi and sashimi. It’s in a quiet strip mall in Woodstock, next to a Publix shopping center.

Appetizers: Sapporo has a nice variety of appetizers with an extensive sushi menu, but also eggrolls, gyoza and several authentic Japanese dishes. The gyoza are delicious and great for sharing. The platters of sushi can feed large parties. Sushi dishes range from $4 to $30.

Entrees: Most people will order the hibachi entrees because of the wonderful food and great show. Depending on which meat or vegetable you choose, your dinner comes with a lot of food. You will get a serving of fried or white rice and assorted vegetables that include zucchini, mushrooms, onions, broccoli and carrots. Along with your meat of choice, you will get a serving of Japanese hash browns and an appetizer grilled shrimp.

Sapporo has steak, chicken, fish, shrimp and combo platters.

At the end of your meal, you can have your choice of ice cream. The green tea ice cream is wonderful.

Service: The servers are attentive and friendly. Your hibachi chef puts on a great show and makes the night entertaining for all. You’ll also get a special surprise on your birthday.

Hours: Lunch is served Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner is served from 4:30 to 10 p.m.

Price range: $11 to $25 per person.
