'Sensual Fluidity' Art Show at Pampas Friday

Event will showcase the work of local artist.

Leigh Blackistone, owner of in Johns Creek, says her own artwork really has "no definitive style. I just capture the moment."

Some of the moments the Woodstock resident has captured are dreamy sunsets, fluid florals and the height of nature in bloom. That work will be the center of attention at in an Friday from 6 to 11 p.m.

Some of her works already hang in the restaurant on State Bridge Road. She says a while back – when she first discovered the restaurant – she realized the establishment's elegant surroundings were lacking art, so she approached the owner about displaying her paintings.

Blackistone held an art show at the restaurant last year and sold 22 paintings that night.

The artist says it's a beneficial relationship for herself, the restaurant and art patrons.

"The restaurant gets free artwork," she says, adding that Pampas does not take a commission on sales, so the public can basically buy the art wholesale.

"Sensual Fluidity" will also feature the mixed media works of North Carolina artist Cathryn Cooper.

Visitors to the exhibit will be treated to free wine while it lasts and hors d'oeuvres. Carter House will also hold a raffle for $100 toward custom framing.
