Streetscape Projects Receive Funding

Cherokee County is among four counties to receive funds from the State Transportation Board.

Woodstock will be collecting funds out of the $4.2 million in the Transportation Enhancement Program for a streetscape project.

City Manager Jeff Moon said the city applied for a $700,000 grant to expand the streetscape project from the Towne Lake Parkway and Arnold Mill intersection north to Rope Mill Road.

Ball Ground will also be receiving a portion of the funds for their own streetscape project.

State Transportation Board member Brandon Beach announced today in a press release eight projects in four counties will be receiving these funds for two reasons.

“All these Transportation Enhancement projects in Cherokee, Cobb, DeKalb and Fulton counties add up to two things–safer mobility and better quality of life for all residents of these counties,” said Beach who represents Congressional District 6 on the State Transportation Board. “Projects like these will continue to positively influence the lives of our citizens, and I share with pride Georgia DOT’s ability to bring them to these communities.”
