With all 43 precincts reporting, Newt Gingrich wins Cherokee County with 50.49 percent of the votes. Mitt Romney trails behind the Georgia native taking in less than half of Gingrich's votes.

Cherokee had 33,327 total voters cast their ballot in the Georgia presidential primary, 507 of which showed their support for President Barack Obama on the Democratic ballot.

CNN, Associated Press, Fox News and ABC News are reporting that Newt Gingrich won the Georgia Republican primary. The votes still need to be counted, of course.

Voting is underway in Woodstock for the presidential primaries.

If you've been on Towne Lake Parkway in the past week, then you've seen the plethora of campaign signs, mostly NEWT2012 signs as a result of the Georgia native .

Aside from the , the 19 Woodstock precincts are ready for today's voters. You can find .

As of 3 p.m., Cherokee County has had approximately 14,000 voters come out to the polls,  Supervisor Janet Munda said. There are 136,000 registered active and inactive voters in the county.

On the border of Woodstock and Holly Springs, 180 voters cast their votes just before 3 p.m. at the Cherokee South Annex Recreation Center Parks and Recreation.

"It's a fair turnout, but I wouldn't call it fantastic," said Elaine Hubbard, Cherokee South poll manager, noting the impact early voting had on today. "It's still a small percentage coming out of the 3,100 registered voters."

Things picked up around 4 p.m. at Cherokee County's megachurch with at least 10 voters waiting in line. poll manager Charles Butterworth said it's been pretty steady every hour.

"This is the busiest we've been so far," Butterworth said. "Now it's lots of teachers getting off of work and parents coming in with their kids."

They had 500 out of the 4,200 voters thus far, he said.

The  had a steady flow for the lunch crowd around 11:30 a.m. The Kellogg precinct on Bells Ferry Road had already seen 258 voters out of the approximate 4,000 registered voters for that area.

Just down the street, the  had a few extra empty booths, but still 204 of the 2,300 voters had already cast their ballots by 11:45 a.m.

A Dixie precinct poll worker said today has been slow, but steady. They had seen 300 voters in the  by 1:45 p.m.

Across the street and up the hill, the  had 238 ballots cast out of the 2,320 registered voters, according to the precinct manager.

Michael Caldwell said he cast his ballot early. 

"Cherokee South (Rec Center) was empty this morning--in and out," Caldwell tweeted at 9:36 a.m.
