Lady Wolverines, Knights Reach Playoffs

Woodstock will start the state tournament at home, while River Ridge will visit North Oconee.

The girls basketball teams from Woodstock and River Ridge have advanced to the Georgia High School Association playoffs and will open play Friday.

Woodstock upset host Marietta in the Region 5-AAAAA tournament championship game Saturday night, 41-40, behind a stifling defense that forced 20 turnovers, the Cherokee Tribune reported.
