Woodstock, Etowah to Help Each Other?

Here's what's happening in high school athletics in Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch on April 22.

Believe it or not, two hated rivals are in a position to help each other out Friday.

(17-6, 8-1) sits on top of the Region 5-AAAAA baseball standings and travels to (11-11, 3-5) Friday. If Etowah wins, it could help clear the way for Woodstock to move up in the standings.

(12-11, 3-6) is in sixth place, but could move up into one of the top four spots before the regular season ends. With three games to go and Woodstock just one game out of fourth place, it could happen. Woodstock hosts (16-6, 7-1) on Friday and if the Wolverines can pull off the upset, it would give Etowah some breathing room at the top of the heap.
