Dee Locklin moved with her family to Woodstock in 1998. She and husband Lewis are devoted to each other and their only son, Taylor, a college freshman who keeps his parents on their toes. Dee retired in April 2011 from Georgia State University, where she was director of a research center and and an adjunct faculty member. She grew up in Miami and attended Auburn University, where she met Lewis. She earned bachelors and masters degrees from Auburn. She completed all coursework and qualifying exams for a doctorate in organizational leadership from Regent University but ran out of steam while caring for her beloved mother, so never finished her Ph.D. Dee's career included many paths: public sector performance research, study abroad instructor, disability advocacy, nonprofit administration, executive coach, public speaking, grant writing, and a brief stint as a housekeeping supervisor at a Days Inn in Gainesville, FL many years ago. But her favorite work is laughing loudly over the little things with Lewis and Taylor. Follow her blog at deelocklin.blogspot.com.
