About Kristal
My name is Kristal Dixon and I'm your local editor for Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch! I started as your editor in early September 2012 after spending five years with the Cherokee Tribune in Canton!
I worked as the editorial assistant for the Griffin Daily News between February and August 2007. I was then hired by the Cherokee Tribune as the education reporter in August 2007. Along with education, I was also responsible for covering the cities of Woodstock and Nelson.
In early 2011, I became the government reporter and covered the cities of Woodstock, Canton, Nelson as well as the Cherokee County government.
While with the Tribune, I was recognized by my peers with first, second and third-place awards from the Georgia Press Association and the Georgia Associated Press Association for my work in covering education, business and breaking news reporting.
In September, I became the local editor for Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch. I am more than thrilled to join the Woodstock-Towne Lake community as local editor and look forward to working with and engaging the community.
When I'm not out reporting the news, I like to run, mountain bike, spend time with friends and family and meet new people in the community. I love the Woodstock and Towne Lake area and I'm excited to be your eyes and ears of what's going on!
