Blooms and Bubbly

Take some time for yourself during spring break.

Spring break is upon us! Last week, Great Escape focused on those of you heading to the beach, the mountains or other fun sites. This week’s feature is for parents staying in Woodstock for the break.

Having a week of family time is great, and there are many local, family-friendly things to do. But let’s face it–parents, especially moms, can burn out quickly during a week of fixing extra meals, coordinating activities, hosting other kids in the house and managing overtired children.

If you stay at home during spring break, I suggest a midweek date with your spouse. Find a sitter and spend some quiet adult time, which will re-energize you for the final stretch of the school vacation.

The Atlanta Botanical Garden hosts Blooms and Bubbly on Thursday, April 7, from 5 to 8 o’clock. Sip champagne, beer or wine from the cash bar while you relax amid colorful blooming tulips and other seasonal bulbs. You will enjoy the numerous annual flowers that accent the garden, each whimsically sculptured into larger-than-life forms.

Non-ABG members pay $18.95 per person, which is the price of admission to the garden. Enjoy your relaxing outdoor evening of Blooms and Bubbly!
