The hospital's Heart and Vascular Institute will offer screenings to determine the risk of heart and blood vessel diseases, which is the number one cause of death for men and women in the United States.

The screening will take place 9 a.m. to noon Saturday Nov. 9 at Northside-Cherokee/Towne Lake Medical Campus. The building is located at 900 Towne Lake Parkway in Woodstock.

The screening will include a risk assessment, blood pressure reading, total cholesterol (HDL, ratio of TC/HDL) and glucose testing, body mass index (BMI) analysis and a one-on-one consultation.

Also available will be a limited number of advanced services, such as EKG, leg vein and peripheral artery disease (PAD) screening, carotid and heart ultrasounds.

The screening is free, but residents are required to register by calling (404) 845-5555. Press 0 to schedule an appointment.
