Early Voting Starts Monday in Cherokee

Voters in Cherokee County Commission District 4 and Georgia's 11th District for the U.S. House of Representatives will head to the polls on July 22.

Residents who don't want to wait another month to vote in the July 22 Republican runoff can vote early starting on Monday.

Early voting starts on June 30 at the Cherokee County Elections and Voter Registration's Office in downtown Canton. Residents can cast ballots from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, July 3 at the office, located at 400 East Main Street. 

No voting will take place on Friday, July 4, as the office will be closed for Independence Day. 

Early voting will continue from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 7-11 and July 14-18 at the elections office. 

No voting will take place on Monday, July 21 and all county precincts will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 22.

Voters is Woodstock and southwest Cherokee County will head to the polls to cast ballots in the County Commission District 4 runoff. Candidates Larry Singleton and K. Scott Gordon advanced to the runoff in the May 20 Republican primary.

Residents in Georgia's 11th District for the U.S. House of Representatives seat — which includes Bartow, Cherokee and portions of Cobb County — will also head to the polls to cast ballots in the Republican runoff. Voters will choose between former U.S. Rep. Bob Barr and former Georgia State Senator Barry Loudermilk.
