Woodstock To Honor Veterans With Memorial Day Ceremony

Woodstock's annual Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26 at the Park at City Center.

The city of Woodstock will join forces with American Legion Post 316 to hold its annual Memorial Day ceremony next week.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, May 26 at the Park at City Center. The park sits at 101 Arnold Mill Road.

The ceremony will honor those who served in the U.S. military, including veterans who also gave the ultimate sacrifice to keep Americans free.

The East Cobb New Horizons Band is slated to perform, and residents are encouraged to visit the city's veterans memorial, which features 10 tons of polished granite dedicated to Woodstock men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The city is still seeking names of Woodstock veterans who died in combat or from an injury sustained during combat to add to the memorial.

Engraved granite bench memorials are also available for dedications. For more information, call 770-517-6788.
