In Memory: James Dempsey, U.S. Navy Veteran
Dempsey served during World War II and retired from the Georgia Army National Guard.

James M. Dempsey, 89, of Woodstock, passed away on Feb. 27.
James was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II, and he retired from the Georgia Army National Guard.
He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Woodstock. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Belle Porter Dempsey. He is survived by his sons, Tim (Ginger) Dempsey of Stone Mountain and Tony Dempsey of Woodstock; grandchildren, Jessica and Jeffrey Smith.
Funeral services were held on Sunday at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors. Interment followed at Macedonia Memorial Park.
