Woodstock Man Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Wreck

The man lost control of the motorcycle after he tried to negotiate a curve.

A Woodstock man was killed in a single vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Towne Lake.

At around 7:15 a.m., Stephen Ray Brown, 53, was driving a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Wyngate Parkway when he lost control while trying to negotiate a curve, said Franka Young, Georgia Department of Public Safety spokesperson.

Wyngate Parkway is located near Hobgood Park, and intersects with Bells Ferry Road to the north and Towne Lake Parkway to the south.

The motorcycle hit the curb on the shoulder to the east and Brown "overcorrected and struck the curb again, causing him to lose control of the vehicle," Young added.

The Yamaha motorcycle then rotated several times and landed on its left side. Brown was thrown from the motorcycle about four feet to the east, the spokesperson added.
