Woodstock Wants To Ban Skateboarding on Sidewalks

The council is expected to approve adding the sidewalks of Market, East Main and Chambers streets where residents are prohibited from riding horses, bicycle, skates or skateboards.

The Woodstock City Council tonight will consider amending an ordinance that would add three additional streets whose sidewalks would be protected from unauthorized riding.

The council will meet tonight at 7 p.m. at the Chambers at City Center. At the request of police Chief Cal Moss, the city is considering adding the sidewalks along East Main, Market and Chambers streets to the areas where residents are prohibited from riding horses, bicycle, skates or skateboards.

Council members will also consider awarding a bid to Axiom Advantage to remove and replace the roof and insulation on the Public Works building at 210 Bell Place in the amount of $28,990.
